Haha, thank you, I'm glad if this video gives you some inspiration for your new drum-journey. I believe this song is in 4/4 all the way through and what you could do is start practicing the basic beat 1,2,3,4... from start to finish and when you have a solid feel for the basic beat, you can actually just play kick, snare, kick, snare all the way through untill you have a good feel. Just experiment along the basic beat. It's a tricky song according to this video ruclips.net/video/ZD17n3x6UTk/видео.html but the way I hear the guitar riffs I assume any drum rhythms can be mathematically correct. If this explanation seems confusing, just let me know 😀

Thanks a lot Zax 😊 No the snare is still the same but stacked 3 different snare samples for the overall snare sound. Not sure if that is good or bad but I think it worked well. More important I did practice snare rudiments and dynamics for 1 hour before I recorded the video. Amazing what a little bit of practice can do.

Hey Leon. Congrats on your 2 months anniversary I hope you carry on having fun playing. It makes me happy that you can learn from my video. I only play by ear. I can read sheet music to a very limited degree, but all my videos is played by ear. If your bass drum sound right I guess it's right. The way I play the song is not an exact copy of the original drum track and I guess yours don't have to be too so I suggest you don't get caught in small details to much like for instance "did I play 1 or 2 bass drum hits".At the end of the day what you wanna do (just my personal thoughts) is to play some drums that goes along with all the other instruments exept the drums. This goes for all songs I guess. If I can help you make your learning process easier feel free to ask me questions in this or any other of my videos. Playing drums along songs with drums is different than playing with drumless songs. I have experienced both.

As I hear the Spotify version compared to your version in this video, I can tell you add a little creativity to the fills. I gather that when people play drum covers, they often modify fills or add some flair. Did you play along to this song with a drum less track? If so, how does someone get ahold of drum less tracks (I’ve seen other more popular songs available on RUclips) Thanks for sharing and offering help! I wish I had drummer friends in real life lol. Your videos are really great and I plan to use them to learn other songs you’ve covered too.

@lack_ Alright Hunter, you're very welcome. No Eat The Rich was not a drumless track but the cd track. I don't think a drumless track exist for this song so you need to use some software to create your own. I did play along to drumless tracks for these 2 Môtorhead songs. ruclips.net/video/lcDLlIk3tYE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/IcDUmqsa3CM/видео.html&start_radio=1 A huge importance for me when I play is to know what to listen for and what to follow. Playing to a full track including drums is great because the drums is a good reference but it can be tricky if you wanna play your own stuff. I think I have come to a point where I get energy from the original drums, but try to focus on guitar and vocals. To abstract from the original drums (unless you wan't to play a note for note copy) can be difficult I think and the moment I start to doubt what to play - my own ideas or the original - I make mistake. Happens often. As long as I know why, I don't care. I'm all in for the energy and spontaneity. At least for my RUclips videos. Playing to drumless track you really have to learn to play along to other instrument than drums. Like in the "real world" I guess. Listen to the drumless track you wanna play and also play along is the only way I think. The great thing when it comes to drumless tracks is that you don't have to deal with the original drums. Simply playing single note strokes on a practice pad while listening to a drumless tracks can benefit understanding the overall rhythm structure in a song. Good luck.

But I’ve been listening to music my whole life. It’s really incredible to be a part of the playing process now. Your description here helps me understand drumming much better. For me, I love playing along to my favorite songs, so I’ll want to explore both drumless tracks and regular drums included. Your version in this video sounds like your drums are much louder (or more pronounced) than the drums on the track. I’ve really been practicing this song a lot because it’s my favorite and feels easier (relatively) compared to other songs. I look forward to using more of your videos in the future! There’s also some songs I’d love to see you cover if you haven’t already 😅

@@Hunter_Drummer Ones again you're welcome. It's great that you enjoy playing and that I can help you move forward. After I recorded the video I used XTRAX STEMS to remove the original drums (or most of the drums from the cd-track and then I mixed the rest of the recording with the drums I played and probably turned them a little louder than you would normally do in a recording. My drum sound on this one is a mix of the sounds from the Roland modul and drum sounds from Toontrack software if I remember correctly. Also my drum sound is probably more compressed/hard than the original analogue drum sound.
